Well i decided i wanted to learn how to make a skirt so i went and bought material and a pattern and went to it! Well... who knew it would be sooo difficult! I found out i bought a really hard pattern and too expensive material. I've sort of watched my mom do it, but i think this sewing project turned out to be the most frustrating thing! I ended up web camming with my mom so she could walk me through the steps when i got too frustrated. It's not completely done but getting there. Thanks again mom for putting up with me! Brad asked me if sewing was supposed to be fun or stressful?! Haha, well maybe if i knew what i was doing!
It looks a lot cuter when the girl is wearing it than when i tried it on! But oh well... i'm going to wear it no matter what!!! Even if it is just inside the apartment!

It's looking great! I agree with Brad, though. It's not supposed to be stressful -only when you goof. ha ha Brad will be telling you to get a new hobby. Iron it and then take a picture of you wearing it! Hopefully you will really like it and next time will be easier - on ALL OF US!!!
Looks great. You are going to have to tell me how to make one...or I will just figure it out through webcaming with Mom. I have to start with curtains first!
Ashley, I'm so proud of you. It will look great! I had a friend that helped me make Karen's baptism dress, and when it was all done, she told me I really love you as a friend, but don't ask me to help you sew anything again. I guess I riped out one to many times. Anyway, you have a great teacher. Someday you might even find yourself sewing a bridesmaid dress for your daughter. Keep up the good work!
I love it! You should wear it! It's cute. Good job trying something new Ash!
That is great way to go, That is so cool dont be too hard on yourslef. And great use of the web cam that is a great idea.
I think it looks great! I am impressed with your drive to learn something new, everytime I have tried to sew I have given up, I am not patient enough with myself to get through a project
thanks! i actually wore it to church and my shirt was long enough to cover all the mistakes! well... most of them! haha.
I sew A LOT and it is stressful. Especially if you're under a time crunch, or if you get stuck on something. Sometimes I have to put my project away for months, just to avoid getting too stressed. BUT it's so rewarding when you get something you like. Clothes are hard because there are so many things that could go wrong (wrong fit, wrong fabric, bad pattern, etc, etc, etc.)
I think your skirt looks great! (and ironing does wonders :)!
) Good for you!
